European Commission investigates accusations against banks

Banks are supposed to have denied financial companies access to data.

Vienna. The European Commission has, according to its own information, investigated the suspicion of competition breaches at banks in their dealing with other financial companies. On 3 October, unannounced searches took place in some European countries, the EU Commission said.

It is a matter of the fact that the moneyhouse rivals could have withheld the legitimate online access to account information from customers. The Commission did not mention names of companies concerned. Fintech companies complained that banks have denied access necessary for their services to their customers. For preliminary investigations, the first suspicious moments are investigated. It is still open whether the Commission also formalizes allegations
