I did not want this morning during my workout to believe my ears. DLF reported on an interview with the Luxembourg Foreign Minister, who called for the exclusion of my country from the EU. What had happened during the night? Then a search quickly finds the original text, and ... And?
Mr Asselborn formulated two charges.
1 / "Hungary infringes freedom of the press and the independence of the judiciary". Fact: All these issues were dealt with in an appropriate process with the European Commission. There are NO open questions in the area of rule of law. Full-stop. As simple as that.
2 / Something really comes absurd. Whoever would protect the EU's GREEN external border (note- an international border in the countryside, whether policed or not- a blue border is one at sea) and the Schengen zone have to be excluded temporarily or forever if necessary from the EU. Whoever respected and implements the common rules, which ensures the safety of the Germans, the Luxembourgers, who has regained control at the external borders, who thereby defends the internal market, must be punished.
And another not unimportant point. The fence on the GREEN outer border of Hungary (that is, the EU and Schengen) was the FIFTH in the EU (since there have been many more), financed by Brussels. Mr Asselborn is not only a self-proclaimed political judge, prosecuting lawyer and one who ignores the facts, the risks to Europe's citizens and one who is clearly for discrimination against individual Member States.
Mr Asselborn is the foreign minister of Luxembourg. But he called for the exclusion of my country from the EU to a German newspaper. Incidentally, he increasingly speaks in the German media more often on Europe, than many responsible German politicians. Therefore, this reaction of the Hungarian Ambassador.
This morning at 5:30 I did not know if I should laugh or cry. I still do not know. One thing is certain. I am extremely sad.
